The good ship Stingo now carries a calendar, as well as 7 almanacs.

The calendar was presented to John 'No Woman, No Cry' Stingo as a token of our amazement that he has finally got out of Brighton marina. It was signed by all of us in Cherbourg at the weekend, several waiters and a busty lady off of a big Finnish ketch.

John invites anyone who spots him in his travels to ask to sign the calendar. Your reward will be a to share a beer with Stingo. Well, probably not just the one.

His passage plan is a little vague, but roughly he expects to be in Cameret for a few days, waiting a weather window for Biscay when he will cross to La Coruna. Then the Spanish and Portuguese coasts spending Christmas in Faro. Then bits of North Africa, and various Atlantic islands, before departing for Brazil in the spring. By Christmas 2004 he anticipates the Caribbee. After that my memory succumbed to "Jist anither bier, mate". The fact that it was Ian Grant's beer we were drinking didn't seem to faze him.

You are looking out for a Benny Oceanis 390 with red canvas work around the cockpit, an arch, and a 400 CD collection.

If you're lucky you may see just where our boy last found an internet caff <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.writeforweb.com/twister1>Let's Twist Again

Why don't you open a sweepstake to estimate his position (coordinates lat & long) say one month from now....(Nov 14: the eve of proposed next meeting). £10 to enter and the person closest to it gets all

I intend to meet Stingo in Camaret, I just leave him a message but it doesn't appear in my email-box ?
Please, as soon as one of you got some news, let me know.
My home is 60 kilometers from there but I'll do my best to help him if needed...
He seems to be the right chap for a beer...
