I was out there today in the baking hot sun with no wind at all. It was very odd as the whole of the central section of the solent was covered in a brown algae such that the wash off the yachts around (motoring!) was brown. Very unattractive. I hope it disappears soon...

I also went to Cowes YachtHaven, and the loos seemed to me to be OK! (Unlike other folks expereince a week or so back). Still expensive (90p a metre for a lunchtime visit!!!)

Saw a classic prang too. As we motored up the channel at the mouth of the Medina, a large (very large ) mobo came charging by between us and a little 30' Moody. As he passed close by the poor old Moody, the stern wash sucked the Moody in and the yacht anchor clouted the stern of the mobo putting a couple of nastly scratches on the hull. The mobo owner was not happy, but in all honestly if he had been going slower and given the Moody more clearance nothing would have happened. He then charged around the yacht haven trying to get a berth, was instructed to go to the other basin... He seemed to be drivimg it just like a car! 3 point turns and the like! Scary stuff. Glad I was not near!

Hey ho, all in a days sailing wot!!!

Puts a whole new meaning to the old phrase "spend a penny"

I note you don't say how much you had to pay! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It's arrived early this year; we don't normally get it until May. Another victim of Global Warming [heads nervously for cover /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif]. It usually lasts a few weeks.

The kids are now running a sweepstake on when the jellyfish are going to appear in the Beaulieu River.

It was so bad..

.. that as I came round calshot spit yesterday afternoon, my echocounder packed up... quite concerning...you know your in a safe position but the echosounders beeping away say less than a metre!

Magic
