The Shipwreck Inn Shotley

I think Little Grebe was refering to Foxs. Shotley maintain a 24/7 watch on 16.

My apologies. No, I've never managed to get a reply at Fox's either!

The telephone number on the sign approaching the marina also didn't work at all, let alone get answered. I complained about that, and I think last time I passed the sign had been changed or the number removed.

Nice clubhouse, though.;)

We're berthholders at Shotley and so we don't eat often at the shipwreck. We did order food there on Tuesday evening and there were some staff there I didn't recognise. Alex wasn't around. The gammon, egg and chips was acceptable without being anything to write home about.

I've often said that you shouldn't test their culinary range - normally they're OK at pub food - but your experience with the chicken burger belies that. I've never had to send something back but Alex has always seemed keen on building a reputation so it's shortsighted and poor business for him not to apologies profusely and refund you the cost of your meal.

Like you we berth in Shotley and don't use the Shipwreck much, mainly 'cos it is a bit expensive for what it is, Pub Grub..... I have to say I have never really had cause to complain, and to be fair have always received reasonable service.....

But Tripadvisor reviews are not great...
