Just read Sam Llewellyns "Shadow in the sands".
Good easy to read old fashioned "ripping yarn"
Its set in 1903, a fisherman turned proffesionall yacht skipper is employed to take a salvage expert to the Frisian Islands . The expert turns out to be not what he says and the group end up in fear of their lives from the German millitary. Lots of exciting but believable sailing stuff as well as intrigue and romance.
The story is a follow on from Erskine Childers "Riddle of the Sands".
