The scandalous price of spare parts

the fact still remains that we are talking about items here that cost upwards of a couple of hundred thousand pounds.

If you have that sort of spare cash knocking around then a couple of grand for a part isn't going to break the bank and the engine boys know this.

Looking at VP, they have an infrastructure to support that has been set up to service a small but wealthy clientèle, forget the % mark up on small parts and look upon it as cold hard cash against units sold.

Bosch make millions of each part and spread overhead cost across each part, VP probably sell 50 of them in a year so if they make £100 per item they contribute only £5000 towards OH recovery.

VP are effectively a big fish in a very small pool but would you expect them to offer backstreet economy for your massive investment or does the nice showroom and posh offices give you the confidence to trust them.

If you can afford a new boat you can afford the parts, If you buy an old one you will find the after market suppliers and OE manufactures to keep your machinery running at a realistic price.
