At the risk of seeming repetitious - and really for those who haven't really thought hard about it - the guy who bought and fitted the rescue ladder I mentioned in the text referenced above clearly thought his was strong enough - but the clips weren't. Not nearly strong enough!
You can imagine my thoughts on the matter.... but there were 'lessons to be learned' and I learned them the hard way.
