The Pictures you have all been waiting for

Laddders n Doors Pt11

" Why did you make them out of redwood ?"

Ahem err .........cheapness. Crafted from some of the worlds most wonderful genuine pine tree wood and with a coat of Wickes finest own brand "Not quite like Oak" woodstain.
They now match the funeral parlour gloom of the woodwork in the rest of the vessel which boats of this era boast. We also now feature a very nearly brass type door handle.

Off tomorrow "foraging" for a nice offcut of carpet.

Ps.11 boats turned up for the Stew and Dumpling run at the crack of lunchtime start on New years day but mysteriously bout 50 people actually appeared in front of me in the food que.

No p*ss taking, fair do's, nice job mate - and in a very creditable time scale ! I still haven't managed to get the Webasto sorted yet :(

Learnt something today about the fuel pump.It must be at that angle as there is a ball bearing in there.

Have you wired that plug yet? ;)

Oh, do keep up at the back ! I dealt with that ages ago :D

Mind you, I need to check out whether there's a leak in the shore power lead
Seems to be using more leccy than the heater could if it was running 24/7 !
As there's nothing else even connected thats a bit of a puzzle - mind you my arithmetic might be at fault - no doubt all will become clear eventually.......

Is the intelligent charger system using anything perhaps remaining connected even with master switches off ?

Nothing wrong with softwood . Ive seen it outlast hardwood quite a few times and most of my joinery is done with it . Just wondered why you didnt match the timber with the rest of the boat but cost is a very good reason . They look smart :)

Nope - the tube heater and its thermostat are the only things connected and plug into shore power using their own dedicated connector - boat circuits are not connected at all.
The tube heater is rated at 120 watts so (120/1000)KwH x 24 x 17 days = approx 50 KwH consumed if permanently on 24/7. metered lead shows about 150 units.

My marina has just / in the process of replacaing all its blue in cable meters, 'cos they were said to be unreliable; so there may be some issue.
Some error is reasonable but 300% ??

Time it for a known measure and see what the meter reads.

B&Q do a wonderful range of MDF doors to match! ROFL

If you must ride along in a greenhouse then I prefer the large glass doors rather than those with wood, even though i'm a wood 'fan'. You could always put curtains up to add to the comfort.
I guess whan I'm even more of an old wrinkly than i am now it's the sort of thing I'd want to potter up and down the upper reaches of the Thames in.

More or less finished for now.

Heating around £400 including mini controller and home made exhaust skin fitting
Doors around £550 inc toughened glass and door furniture.
Now with genuine top quality carpet off cut fitted :) merely taken every available spare hour inc. most of Xmas day since December and ......Voila..........We can now cruise the Thames with pride.
Only thing left now is noise insulation, polish the entire boat, change the oil filters, fuel filters, stain the swim platform, varnish the hand rails, buff up all the stainless steel, err see you in 10 years time then ...........
