Club News, February 2nd 2010

Dear berth holders, boat owners and all Fox’s and Oyster staff.

You are cordially Invited to an open meeting to be held at the old club house at Fox’s Marina on Saturday February 20th at 9:30am.

You may not be aware that after the closure of the old Fox’s Club on December 23rd a Set-up Committee was formed and has been working hard with Richard Matthews, Fox’s Marina and Oyster Properties to find a route to re-open the club as a traditional yacht club.

At the meeting on the 20th we are expecting to be able to announce that the Set-up Committee has been successful and Fox’s Marina Yacht Club will open on Monday March 22nd and will be better than it has ever been before.

Assuming our negotiations go to plan Fox’s Marina Yacht Club will be open lunch times and evenings seven days a week serving excellent food and drink. Your local is back!

Fox’s Marina Yacht Club will be fully affiliated to the RYA and a constitution based on the RYA guidelines has been drawn up and will be presented along with the proposed officers at the open meeting on the 20th.

Club membership will be by subscription and an application form is available on line at www.fmyc.org.uk, at the Chandlery, Fox’s and Oyster offices, at the Harbour Masters office and will also be available at the meeting on the 20th.

Full details of membership are shown on the application form and here the web site.

We very much look forward to seeing you at Your New Club on the 20th February 9:30am.

The set-up Committee.

p.s. Bring your overalls and join the painting party directly after the meeting when we will make the Club our own!

Good to hear things are moving onwards and upwards Roger, can't make the meeting but hope everything goes well
Anything to get out of a painting party :D
Subscribed to the e.mail service when this first came up, but nothing heard since, are you getting your information direct or are they writing to you ?
Think they have me on ignore :D
You're probably aware of this already, but just in case.
A private members club is an absolute nightmare as far as legislation goes these days. Louise now has her personal licence and says it's not as easy as signing in a guest for a quid anymore. They need to actually join and be a member to partake of the facilities.
Please advise when they sort out membership fees as I may well be joining

nothing yet from subscribers list, its very early daze.
The web site looks good

Very pleased if this is to reopen as it is a good focal point for people all over the marina site to meet up and put the world to rights.
Last I heard, a third party with other business interests in the catering/drink provision trade was hoping to run the food and drink aspect, which will be an improvement.
