After selling my boat at the end of last summer, a fairline sprint, I am now on the hunt for replacement.
I am looking for something around the same size 23 to 25 ft. but a little newer than the sprint.
Budget is round £15,000 to £16,000 so the “lower end” of the scale.
There are three that have appealed to me so far: Merry Fisher 625 , KARNIC 2050 AND Chaparral 240 Signature all for different reasons, not least that they are in my budget!
The Merry Fisher and Karnic as they are easily “trailable”, also hopefully cheaper on maintenance with an outboard (i.e. No lift out for repairs etc.) and saving on mooring fees as I will be able to store the boat out of a marina in the winter, plus the flexibility of taking to different places, and these appear to be generally cheaper than a proper cabin cruiser meaning I can get a newer boat.
But…….. I still prefer a traditional cabin cruiser that would offer comfortable sleeping arrangements and toilet etc. Hence the Chaparral.
Any opinion on these boats or suggestions for alternatives appreciated.

There will be a bunch of 22-25 ft American Sportcruisers with sleeping for 4 and much newer than the Sprint in your price range. Bayliner, Rinker, Sea Ray plus lots more. All with V8 petrol engines, on outdrives.

The Chaparral 240 SSE was a premium boat of it's day. I had one with the 5.0ltr mercruiser. She was one of the best handling boats I ever had. I kept her on a trailer and even towed her to Menorca. The boat has a great layout, was comfortable yet sporty. I also had a smaller chaparral 205 SSE and that was also a great boat. Very different from the karmic and the MF.
