I'm about to take out a mobo for the first time, having always sailed. So, for someone who's not new to boating but is new to mobos, what's the one thing you think I need to remember to have on board which wouldn't occur to someone from a sailing background?

Apart from a shed load of diesel, that is.

Planned use is coastal sailing and channel crossings. 34 foot sportscruiser.

The problem with credit cards is that it leaves a permenant trail of money spent on boating, which I don't find all that useful when read by Mrs D!

"Hairy chest, stunning totty and at least 2 big shore-power leads..."

Knowing my luck, I'm more likely to end up with hairy totty, 2 big chests and stunning (as in electric shock) shore-power leads

Definitely need suitable Trophy Girlfriend/Wife (ideally both, but that's a difficult one to sort out). She should be a little over half your age, surgically enhanced, and be fluent in Estuary English. She'll be very high maintenance, but her ability to make an old man very tired will make all the whining and ear-ache worthwhile.
