Morning Boaters,

Looking for the next step on the motor boat ladder.
Have been reviewing Windy Coho 29's. i have had a trip out & thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
However i thought before committing myself i would get this forums views & experiences of Windy Coho's.

Beautiful looking boat, especially the Windy Coho 29 GT.
But I don’t have any knowledge or experience on them, I just wanted to get your enquiry back to the top of the page.
Good luck

I have no experience of the Coho, but I do have a Windy 25 mirage from 2006 with a volvo penta d4 260 engine and dph drive, and a lot of experience with a Windy 37 grand mistral also from 2006 with twin volvo penta d4 260 and dph drives..

I think in general Windys are decent, well built boats, we've had no significant trouble with ours. They go through the sea well for their size (as all the reviews say). Being volvo penta, the engines and drives are subject to the usual issues from that type of engine and drive.

Really liked the Windy, we looked at the 29 but on balance was put off by the fixed berth below, in the end went for an older windy khamsin and never looked back

They're Norwegian

. The renowned WINDY boats are built at our modern and well equipped production facilities in Västervik at the east coast of Sweden and in Ostróda, Poland. We engage over 100 skilled people producing models ranging from 27 to 60 feet in our WINDY range; and from 22 to 27 feet in our DRACO range.

Owned by a Norwegian corporate , but Swedish built.

It gets a bit vague as to what country a company is from when they build boats in two different countries (Sweden and Poland) and are owned by a legal entity in a third country(Norway), but the reason I said they were Norwegian is because the chap that set up the company was Norwegian, and until relatively recently they also built the boats in Norway(and Sweden), and they consider themselves a Norwegian boat builder (when I bought mine the boats all came with a Norwegian ensign-not sure if they still do this). I think mine was built in Norway.

And i think all the windy boats under 40 foot are now built in Poland, so does that make those boats (including the coho that the op is interested in) polish boats? I suppose it does.

Anyway, don't think it matters much where the factory is, they're decent boats.

the one parked opposite me today garnered many admiring glances. The same way as people stop to look at a fine sports car. She looked resplendent with her upholstery details and the light blue hull with red gills.
I suspect the only issue is that it has an outdrive. Many people are vociferous in their hatred for outdrives. However, I’m neutral, I just regard outdrives as the work of the devil?
