I am, sadly, getting to the end of the Alexander Kent series of the Bolitho family..and I feel totally gutted about it..
I fell on them by complete accident and now after reading almost 24 books I'm at an end.. so my question is... What's the next best thing???? Hard to see if it could better AK, but..

Don't fancy Hornblower, read a few and don't compare with Kent..

So please help me....

I read some of the Bolitho stories and enjoyed them. I enjoyed the Nathaniel Drinkwater series more. Theres a brief biography here http://www.sheridanhouse.com/newsletter/drinkwater.html
You don't say whether you've tried the Aubrey/Maturin books by patrick Obrian. I liked those too.

You are the man, Sir!!!!!! the Aubrey and Maturin, just read through a few and saw Master and Commander (one of the best films I've seen)... No I haven't read him BUT he's now top of the agenda :) thank you for that tip...
Nathaniel Drinkwater sounds almost better, which did you prefer?

By the way, I live in Sweden where your boat was born, just a little ditty as we see many of them and our first sailing boat was a cousin/sister to yours... an Albin Vega:)

Thanks again for the tip..
