I did inthe end sort of impulse caused me to say “yes”

The sort of impulse where you remember that there is no perfect boat - every one has compromises and drawbacks - and that having an imperfect boat is more fun than not having a boat?

Once, long ago...a telesales company targeted my office...to sell me something that I had no use for...a photocopier (remember the days ?).....they rang relentlessly...dozens of times a day.....until finally in an attempt to shut them up I agreed to an appointment. It had the opposite effect....they rang twice as often to confirm the appointment.
I did the same with Wansworth.... to shut him up...I convinced him to buy a boat....it didn’t work

Re the Porta Pottie. Does the boat have any sort of toilet at the moment, if so why change it. Why do you want a porta pottie, iti s just a slightly refined bucket and chucket. Does the marina have a proper chemical toilet disposal or are you hoping just to pour it down the ordinary toilets in the marina?

The design has an internal molding with a space in the fore cabin for aporta type wc which I spotted in various photos of Dufour 24 s.There is not a wc at present .Portas are available locally Ina caravan place so I will measure up to see if one will fit.Whilst in the marina we have deluxe facilities but a wc will save a midnight hike…..if we empty it every day it should be ok in the marina we have facility with no added chemicals the same if we are afloat in the ria

Not too expensive,comfortable settees,outboard engine,in the ria de Vigo,successful trial sail …..helpful owner………wide side decks

Having had a small amount of experience with Porta Pottis, provided it can be made to fit, go for a cassette version. They're so much easier to deal with that the "bucket with a seat" type. (Are the bucket type still made?

We had cassette types on 2 of our 4 multihull cruisers. Never had a bucket and seat type. Emptying them is a chore, but better than the alternative. We rarely used chemicals in them as that means you must find a chemical loo emptying point.

Sometime next week we will start filling the car with all the unwanted stuff in the boat .Ithas a sink combined with a stove that slides under the cockpit which looks awkward and takes up space .I will photograph the interior for the record but I may rebuild the galley area.Washingup can be done in a bucket without complications of a water pump and piping.Measuring up a porta pottie available locally to see if it will fit as show in various photos of other Dufour 24s
