This stupid pair sailing naively through the most dangerous waters in the world deserve whatever happens to them.
The RN is known to be gutless and manned by the typical youthful products of present day British society.
Pirates and yachties would best have been gunned down on the spot and no further incidents would happen.
"The people who really know about hostage rescue are the special forces, and their rules of engagement are generally pretty clear" - what utter nonsense.

With Great risk.. the security Forces had a perfect Chance to rid the area of a Gang of Pirates and send a clear message. my thoughts are... What Idiot would let a gang of Pirates to go free to terrorise, rob, steal, murder or kidnap Who Knows how many people..To secure the release will cost very much less than an MPs essensial, nessesary expenses, even less than a couple of weeks wages for some of the luckier ones in society. Indeed it cost me several years salary for fogetting a letter, really what is society coming to when Life and freedom of such Brave, sensible, intellegent freedom seeking kind people who like most cruising and working sailors chance Piracy in ALL parts of the world, have apparently so very little value. don't count me in on this decison, Pick our Battles with at least a little common sense

If you wish to avoid areas of Piracy stay in the Marina oops! even there you can be robbed but at least the authorites act to lower crime on land..

Its not the rfa's fault!!!

i have by all means not read all the posts on here, but from the first couple that i read i think this point should be made.

the RFA is a merchant shipping company governed by some miltary fella in government.

all, and i mean all, rfa captains love the navy, they want to be the navy. however they cant for some very sad reason. in a situation like this the captain would of loved to of got his name in the papers for coordinating a rescue, however he is governed by this weasel man in government. so he cant. not only that, its a merchant ship, carrying limited weapons, maybe a 20mm at most. at the end of the day its a tanker carrying lots of fuel and oil, so an attack would not be the best of things unless you wanted to see a bang. maybe ther were marines on board, clearly not enough, and rfa personnel have no idea on how to fight for a country. how do i know this?? i work for the RFA and im also ex royal navy. the papers consistantly said that a navy ship was there and done nothing. to me a navy ship would be a destroyer? a frigate maybe??? maybe if this so called navy ship that was there was one of these destroyers or frigates then something would of been done.

nothing is going to be done when all you have is a tanker and some baby sa80 rifles and not enough people on board trained to use them.
