The planned barrage can supply 5% of the entire UK poer requirement.
The Bristol Channel has enough tidal energy in iot to supply the entire UK many times over but the barrage would be very large indeed.

Some greenies seem very anti the idea of a proper Severn Barrage, due to possible (ie unproven) "habitat damage". Others are in favour. Having siad that, putting the London to Wales railway line along the thing does seem a bit spurious as a partial justification, there's a ruddy great hole under the river anyway and has been for years, a hole that doesn't need to be 45m above the water for clearance purposes or open to let shipping through.

Turned out they were very upset at me showing my personal video that non-stop praised the boat!
Amazing really because I could have videoed the same boat when I visited it in Scotland or I could video a Marlow that someone owned now and show the video forever! The boat belonged to a customer who had no objection to the video, not to the dealer.
How can anyone hope to prevent pictures and videos being published of its boats?
