I am given to understand that when 'ello 'ello was broadcast in France, the British Spy, masquerading as a gendarme got some of the biggest laughs as all they did was dub him speaking French like a typical Englishman. Apparently we do say the equivalent of "I was pissing the bonk when I heard a funny nose". I suspect that for every amusing instance of French sounding in English there are 10 equivalent ones the other way around. Mind you Monty Python exploited the "ridiculous French accent" particularly well with "I fart in your general direction" etc.
