I remember my father having a Johnson 10'ish HP of the same vintage. Its was an ill concieved rough running pile of ****.....just like that one.

(That's why no one has posted a thread titled World's Best starter motor or shelf bracket- they just.... work!)

Some years ago I bought a 18 foot Delquay Dory which came with a late 60s Mercury straight 6 two stroke.
Again all chrome and decaled aluminium cover.
Fuel consumption was another matter!!

nice classic outboards are lovely bits of kit to play with, having owned & restored a couple I'm a real sucker for Merc's now....
