I actually listened to this as an audiobook, but it is on kindle, and free on kindle unlimited.

Well written, well observed, interesting and funny account by the son of the famous journalist ( he hated his dad) of how he drifted into sailing by helping fix up & crewing as a total novice on a yacht from Ireland to the Carribean via the canaries. The narration was very good in the audio version & the story is excellent. Well worth a read or a listen. One of the very best atlantic crossing stories, and probably the most entertaining and interesting of them all.

Just purchased the kindle version for 77 pence. Will be a while before I read it due to other books in Kindle....

Thanks for the recommendation Steve. I am half way through it and as you say, it’s both entertaining and interesting.
