Good to hear you're on target Jim, wouldn't mind saying the same but my target is constantly under review
Decided to take the day off and try and get things moving, which they sort of did, but having removed the damaged through hull depth transducer, I find the hole is too big for the replacement, and too small for the speed/distance log
Decided best way forward is to increase it to fit the log and hope I can drill it in a straight line
Close scrutiny of all the cracks on the inside of the cabin roof reveal them to be superficial, thankfully. So just need a quick rub down and another coat of paint
Just glad I've only got a little boat, the stress of a big one is something I can do without

Well done Jim.
Cleaned and then polished the hull, polished the prop, sorted the liferaft, a few small jobs, senior management came and helped and polished all the stainless. I also fitted the dodgers now altered to Full Circle specification and looking good. Just a dollop of AF (Friday maybe) and she can go back in. Day off tomorrow (rest these weary bones) and away to visit bairns for the weekend (West Wales Food Fayre sounds promising).
Oh to leave the job list to ferment for another year.

Back it from either side with plywood that has a pilot hole through the centre. Apply hole cutter to correct dimension. Simples.

Well Whoopee!. Got the aft cabin sealed off now, putting cushions back in tomorrow. Tried the new Standard Horizon VHF and the RAM Mic which fored up first time. Thames Coastguard chirped in 5 seconds latrer, and a respondent from West Mersea heard really clearly, so no radio check required. PA/Fog horn is funky, but seems a little muted.
Lynn whizzed round the waterline with the antifoul, and put another coat on the keel.
The yard have put the travel hoist in place ready for me to antifoul the underside of the keel and the lifting keel plate in the morning.
Loads more still to do, but at least we will be afloat tomorrow.

Coming round to the Crouch on Saturday, planning to cross the RaySand a couple of hours before HW then up to BYH. If you are in the river give us a shout as a) want to see if I have resolved the aerial / radio connection and b) want some pics of K sailing!!
Weather for Monday is looking pretty yucky (trying to plan to cross RaySand in Nly 5 to 6 seems a bit silly) so will probably go back to Blackwater on Sunday rather than have a day in the Crouch.

Well, we are back in . We floated for nearly 2 hours before coming to rest in Roach mud at the bottom of the slipway.
Ruddy keel was jammed in the box this morning, as it had all dried out over 4 months. Power wash for 3 minutes cured that.
Antifouled the keel and Triluxed the Kiwiprop. We shall see how it all fares.
Must get round to dropping the keel out next year.
All went well in the travelhoist, and I have started re-rigging with a vengeance. Sometimes you have to think hard about where it all goes.
Modified stackpack for the full length batten main looks brilliant, and Keith Brasier made a really good job of repairing and reinforcing the dodgers.
Final bit of the woodwork arrived today, which we had forgot. Anyone now staying in the midget port single berth in the saloon can now luxuriate in 6' 6" long berth. An infill panel. Bliss for someone.
The double berth infill cushion and the single infill cushion are waiting for us in Althorne.
Tomorrow is fitting the new sails and working my way around the electrics, and I anticipate being able to fire up the engine on the Sunday tide.
Lynn is sitting patiently working her way through the first aid equipment throwing out the out of date 2002 potions and unguents.
I am now going up into the loft to get the rest of the boat into the car.

She's afloat again Jim, that's the most important bit, and good to hear it. Not looking good for this weekend anyway, not round here anyway, been raining on and off all day and so blustery it's been hard work doing anything. Did manage to get the new instruments installed though, just hope they work now. Foredeck looks nice and white again too, shame about the aft deck, got to start again with that after it rained two minutes after painting it

Ah, rain stopped play a lot today.
However, the forecabin is now cleaned and habitable, the workshop has been cleaned and sorted, and various lockers cleaned and repacked.
The engine didn't start firsat time, but now it is working, it is sounding very peachy. Valve clearnaces, injectors cleaned and pump timing done, she sounds perfect. Bit of an uneven balance at 1400-1700rpm for some reason. Silky smooth in forward and reverse. Hats off to Mr Engines Dunn.
New alternator charging like a good un.
Water system checked and working well, and even the heads fired up first time.
Cockpit locker is now fully reassembled and the new transom bulkhead hatch works brilliantly.
So, onto tomorrow, which will see the sails go on, the electrics for essential circuits re-sorted and perhaps the instruments rewired correctly.
Here's hoping.

Pah. Rain really stopped play yesterday, but managed to get the wind generator stanchions made to the right length and installed.
Electrics now complete and functioning at the panel, but couldn't rewire instruments at the binnacle because of the rain.
Loft now emptied of boat, and most things stowed for the season.
We will leave Rochford as planned on this afternoon's tide, and should pitch up in Bridgemarsh around 6pm.
