Would like to apologise for any inconvenience during the next two weeks, this is due to essential building works and maintenance. We hope to open again in time for a relaunch on 31st July 2010, in the meantime, we will endeavour to ensure the beer and spirits are looked after properly. I do hope we have enough of the Scottish wine in stock for the day

Do they do live music there? :o
Nice selection btw.

Coincidentally, we do have a licence for live music and hoped to book something, in particular, for our relaunch on 31st July. Unfortunately the budget is, as always, a little tight :o
Followed the link in your signature, and it sounds like just the sort of band we were hoping for, maybe we should talk

Hi
If you were considering the launch event it's our 'summer break' then. We have kept the end of July and beginning of August gig-free so we all get a holiday at the same time rather than losing lots of gigging opportunities. Our gig list is on the site. I'll send you a demo CD anyway.
We are more than aware these days that bands do eat into a pubs budget - especially as you have to sell several times their fees in beer etc just to cover the outlay.
Will there be a ECF event there in the future? Might be a good opportunity.
(Oh, and is your PRS licence for solo artists/duos or for bigger groups?)
All the best.
D

very best wishes to you both for the future.

The news now gives me an even better reason for a visit to East Angular a bit later this year.

Dan - where's Sixpence's Beer Icon ?

Well done Louise & Dave pleased it came to fruition at long last.
Hope it all goes very well & see you soon

Wingdiver, prs to cover any event, so we're fine there. The CD would be great, thanks, the address is online anyway, and we'll probably play it on the CD system to see how well it goes down

Booking system will be in operation soon after we open, so if someone wanted to sort out a meeting that's no problem, think Neil or Jim may have already mentioned that, so just to clarify, there's plenty of space in the grounds for caravans and tents, even a few hideaway parts if kids wanted to camp with adventure in mind

Plan is (this might please some) to drop one of the two largers and serve Duvel or another similar good drink (open to advice on this one) and drop one of the others and serve a good quality local beer instead

We'll be there on site often over the next two weeks, but as the work involves knocking a hole through a wall it's going to be a bit messy for a while, but it's free beer for anyone that wants to call in and lend a hand before we open

The garden is a bit of a mess and there's loads of jet washing needed before the painting starts :o

Thanks Neil, and all, think most on here know how hard this journey has been :o

Will, just going through the beer order and it seems they may have to order Duvel in as a special

Leffe Blonde is available though, works out at about £2.80 roughly, but is this just a tourist drink or a good one ?

Philistines :mad::p

Leffe Blonde's something the locals export because they keep the good stuff for themselves.

You're more likely to get Leffe, Stella or Hoegaarden in the UK as they're part of the Interbrew (Inbev, AB-Inbev, or whatever name they go by now) portfolio.
Our local (Watford) Costco's got them - lower priced than in Belgium

I personally favour Leffe over Duvel, and at £2.80 its not that bad, but deffo not a daily drinker!

Our local landlord at the Anchor also buys bitter in bottles, because his original gravity pump sales meant too much ullage to begin with.

The CD would be great:o

In the post tonight - you could have it in the morning :D

On the subject of beer and related items -
Several places now seem to sell draught Aspall Cider in preference to Strongbow or others.
If you are a freehouse you can still get good deals from Adnams, GK, Woodfordes etc.
Great local (ish) beer from Earl Stonham Brewery.
Some wholesalers will do specials so you can have guest beers on.
