Just spent an hour trying to row out to the good ship Fairwinds to join Claymore's Cruise for Distressed Gentlefolk. Gave up when after half an hour we were a quarter of the way there with the boat a third full of water - simple arithmetic deemed we beat a retreat, and anyway we had stopped making any progress by this time.

The 30kt northerly currently howling across the bay would of course have been ideal for a quick hurtle down to the rendezvous then on to Big Doris and points South . . . it's forecast to drop to a 2-3 later, so may try to head South then . . . luckily the Craighouse Hotel doesn't shut early.

Wish I hadn't got up at five o' clock now.

Just checked the Oban web-cam. Oban Bay looks like a pussy-cat now....

Looks as if there are still a few gusts. At least its blowing you in the right direction.

Have a good sail.

Stuck in the office till 12.30 then straight down to the Kyles....
