No one likes paying over the odds for boaty bits and paying over inflated prices so how about some real, down to sea, genuine boat bargains.

We trawl e-bay, liddle and other sites and often see real bargains that although you may not want them others do.

Can you come up with a real boaty bargain?

I've found shopping online prices even though they give the impression of cheapness isn't the case.
They'res a Chandlers in Cobbs Quay that when you walk in will remind you of the "4 candles" sketch by the Two Ronnies, yet they keep a vast stock (you can't seeit, but believe me it's there) and, cheaper than the big names with all the fancy website stuff.

Early last year I bought a 42 inch Whitlock stainless steel steering wheel on eBay for 20 quid. And it came with a leather cover! I was chuffed to bits.

We bought an American boat 3 years ago. The RAM Mike was Donald Ducked-(Remote Access Mike) and was obsolete. We checked websites and forums and the Standard Horizon RAM mike was a VERY wanted item. First Mate found one on EBAY but it was unclear what model it was. She asked the seller who replied but only to us-he hid the reply on EBAY.We went to the Channel Islands and did not check EBAY untill we were home. She got a £125.00+VAT brand new Ram Mike for 99p! Result or what. Oh- I forgot- she gave him a fiver for postage!

12v rechargeable wet/dry handheld hoover (beldray make) has a 100w motor, 10 minute runtime and a hepa filter, comes with crevice nozzle and a brush nozzle, was £69.99, then reduced to £49.99, then reduced to 29.99, and on offer today for £14.99, they were selling fast in Robert Dyas in fareham when i was in there this afternoon

I got it back to the boat, and gave it a quick test and the suction power is huge !, nothing like the normal pathetic little sniff that most can muster, this thing will lift your carpet off the floor whilst cleaning it, and good for drying the bilges too being a wet/dry model
