Indeed the river changed very quickly on Sunday so we came back to the marina early and safely on berth again.

I got back to the field mooring at Medmenham ok. River really flying now. Marsh lock is the one which bothers me as it just pulls you off the upper layby sideways. Was ok on boxing Day but I would not fancy coming through there downstream now unless lock gates open. It's an awkward one. And a slightly slippery metal topped walkway too. Dodgy.
Of course red boards advice is don't go so can't really moan!
Happy to be moored up in normal position and watch the water instead.
Couple of canoers earlier. No swimmers about. There was a large discharge from Witney sewage treatment works on Christmas day so I guess the River not all that clean.
I don't understand idiots who swim in flood conditions but it takes all sorts I guess.
