Filled up yesterday evening after a very enjoyable day trip to Cowes. Chatting with staff on the fuel pontoon they reported they'd sold more fuel over the weekend than during all of August. Seems that many have now started topping off their tanks pre 1st Nov.

I wonder which marinas will manage to run out of fuel in the last week?

A thought here, why can we pay for fuel now say for the next few fill ups and collect it when we need it, bit like a bunkering system the transport industry uses??.

I suspect the date of supply is the relevant one for tax purposes rather than the date one commits to buy. Otherwise I'll have a bunker full please /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I proposed this one a while back and didn't get any feedback. I can see the issue of supply date/tax but what about if the bunker full is paid for at time of purchase ? Then collected over a period.
