The GENUINE Laying Down Supper thread

Ok, how about Ipswich?

Lots more choice of venues around the quay... Some look really good!

Or there is the quite nice looking restaurant in the marina itself... Plus good visitors pontoons...

Might make a nice change from a standard pub... Good access by road with decent hotels for drivers..

Sorry, newbie so ignore me if there is a tradition!

Do we know yer

We had a really good supper at Titchmarsh in the conservatory

We have never done it at Tollesbury, although they have a great facility

The brave might go for Heybridge Basin lock in?

The very first one was Coast Inn at West Mersea, maybe WMYC (they had a clashing do so could not accommodate last time)

Swallowtail at Burnham also worked well, but it exercised my arithmetic for an hour settling up. Management has now changed.

Levington has that flash shed with glass opposite the Lighthouse, can we use that?

13/14th October right in the middle of my 2 weeks holiday:o

Please mister, can I come for tea?

Sarah is on holiday in the middle of October.
She said that if we wanted to go there it would have to be the last weekend in October.

Looking at tide times for the 13th / 14th it favors the Crouch / Blackwater boats coming north rather than the Orwell / Deben boats heading south.
Walton HW Saturday 10:36, Sunday 11:22.

Ipswich venues get rowdy on Saturday nights, but MoodySabre and I know of a great pub in the town that would work.

If I understand Clive correctly, that pub could prove to be a better bet than heading South, just means I don't get much of a sailing trip :(:o

Doug, that place looks good to me, but more for a rather splendid night out than a gathering of a load of scruffy sailors

Off to hide now :D
