I'm still waiting for graphene to have even a fraction of the effect that was predicted a decade ago. Carbon fibre took 30 years to reach consumer level products in significant volumes. Whizzo new materials tend to get a lot of press then take ages to actually reach the shops due to mundane tasks like coming up with an economic manufacturing process at scale.
