Never been before but one or two of the crew are angling for a good runashore on saturday. Is there anywhere to look out for?

"good runashore" and "Weymouth" don't seem to go together that well. Main memory is of the barmaid who believed that we Scots have a £3 coin in common circulation.

How ignorant! When we all know it's £4.10

There's a very nice very small fish restraunt just past (walking up river) the harbour office. Forget what it's called. If you get to the big industrial pub near the bridge you've gone too far (if you go in it youv'e gone way to far)

Yup, Floods is the one I had in mind. I am sure it will not too classy for the Judders crew. It's not too classy for us, and I was brought up in sauf London where they pronounce teeth with a double eff.

Remember, before planning a run ashore in Weymouth, the inside boat is sure to say they want to leave at 5am to catch the inside passage round the Bill, and then forget.

A good restaurant used to be the Sea Cow fronting on to the yacht moorings. I go diving from Weymouth on Friday evenings and we always end up having Fish and Chips at about 2200 before heading home. Despite all the criticism here, there always seems to a rather large amount of 'pulchritude' on the prowl between the bars at this time of night. So depending on your tastes and how good your beer goggles are you could have a good time!!

Is that the Ship? We had a night in there once on a delivery trip. It was hugely entertaining, especially the bloke who came in with two women in tow, who kept going off for a 'conference' and reappearing having swapped various items of each other's clothing. Bewildering for an innocent chap like me, but we enjoyed it anyway.

You are right about the chavs its a real vest and tatoo sort of town, full of single mums and kids on holiday spending their "social".
But most of those chavs aren't local they are all grockles from London Birmingham Bristol and the likes

Can't remember but it is probably counts as an authentic fleshpot. I have to be a bit careful because my sister lives in Weymouth...

If you want to see "pots of flesh" go to Weymouth ASDA. I've just left there and there was a lot of excessive midriff showing.

Best chip shop is bennets on the quay - next to Kings Arms by the bridge. For good food at not bad price go to the Galley in Hope Square. Good run of pubs - start Red Lion in Hope Square onto Old Rooms on Quay then Kings Arms then Ship on opposite side of harbour. Ship also does nice bar meals. Thats a fairly civilised run - if you want hectic there are no end of pubs in town. Wherever you go hope you have a good stop over /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Could have told you of a few nearly 30 years ago when I was based at Portland and a wee bit younger and still having to fight the Weymouth floosies off with a big anchor and chain /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Ahhh..... happy days.... sweet, sweet memories.

Now all the fleshpots of Weymouth seem to have departed with the RN /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

"In the UK they breed on coastal sites, mainly in the north and west, and over half their population is found at fewer than 10 sites, making them an Amber List species. Shags usually stay within 100-200km of their breeding grounds. During the breeding season at their large Scottish colonies on Orkney, Shetland, the Inner Hebrides and the Firth of Forth. Elsewhere they can be seen commonly around the coasts of Wales and South West England (especially Devon and Cornwall)."

So, Weymouth seems like a long way to go for a shag.
