Interesting article quotes an alarming study that found over 11,000 fibreglass shards in a single kg of oysters in Chichester harbour attributed to the breakdown of abandoned grp boats though I wonder about the contribution that might also originate from maintenance activities in boatyards. Highlights difference between UK and France where the latter compels boat owners to be licensed so are more easily traceable. Also boat manufacturers pay an eco tax for every boat sold and owners pay an annual tax to fund 35 free to use boat scrapping facilities around the country. Seems like a good idea to me.
