The EA... Fit for purpose?

So who pumped it out and raised it last time ?

And like earlier on in the thread , it's not down to the ea to prevent it sinking ... It's down to the owner.

The fire brigade had a go and failed...apparently it was a good training exercise that would have gone better if they'd shut the doors first
Not sure who was involved the second time around

to use the thames the licence is good value, compared to other leisure pursuits, the EA have no control on rain levels in the winter, the locks are generally easy to operate, when no operator , or out of hours. good value for the cash laid out, too many require wet nursing up and down the river.

You've missed the point. This is nothing to do with wet nursing. The comments refer to a degradation of service with no reduction in fees and as per my previous comment I don't point the finger at the staff on the ground although there are concerns that the river isn't being looked after as well as it used to be. Is the EA fit for purpose? Probably but just not as fit for purpose as it used to be.

....and it's sunk again :(

Apparently the repair was too expensive :ambivalence:

Looks like a classic spell checker induced error where you miss the correct word and click the next in the list by mistake, need a "does it make flipping sense checker" been there done that
fortunately I don't work for the council :)

We have all done it but if you could develop a program that did just that "does it make flipping sense checker" you would be a millionaire.

Always a shame when a perfectly good boat ,of whatever sort, ends up like this.
Suspect it will end up at auction and somebody will get a bargain.
We have two boats down here needing love and care.
One is small cabin cruiser on the sea wall at Borstal, stern is virtually gone when outdrives were ripped off, came over the lock at Allington during floods apparently.
Other is sunken trawler type boat on the bottom in the Eastern Swale.
Most of last years flood chaos does seem to have been sorted judging from our trips on the upper reaches of Medway.
Some poor souls however are still not back in the homes tho. :(

It will be a bargain for someone to start the whole 'I've got an idea for a cheap way to live idea' all over again:)

Fair do's to the council, quite a quick response from them compared to the sunken wreck just above Staines road bridge on the left as you go upstream. If it floods this winter that is going to be a problem for some poor soul downstream.
