....left at the end of THIS thread... http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=260825&highlight=danfoss
...unless, of course I`ve missed it......er..somewhere else

An interesting and informative thread....but with the ONE bit of salient information never supplied to enable the job to be tackled....

I.E... Where to obtain a suitable adapter to be able to connect the DIY Auto Aircon Top-up can of refrigerant (supplied with some kind of Quick-Fit connector) to the 1/4" Schraeder connector on the Danfoss compressor.

Searches on the web result in a plethora of fittings but with insufficient detail to be able to select the correct one...... Has anybody successfully tackled this problem...has anybody "made up" their own adapter?...Oh..and before the `industry` jumps in and tells me it is illegal....please remember..not all of us facing this problem are having to tackle it in the "comfort" of the UK...with its readily available (or not ) supply of refrigeration engineers...
Many Thanks for any real , detailed, help

Owen is working abroad at the moment but I see he is posting occasionally. He may have something to add but since the thread you mention I have made some additions to his description on the website, under Refrigeration. If this does not cover your requirements please post again.

Yes, Vyv,...as discussed on the thread I quoted....the adaptors mentioned on your website are a direct replacement for the fitting on the Danfoss compressor....and in removing the original fitting to install one of those...then the refrigerant is lost, the whole thing has, apparently, to be vacuumed out...and then re-filled.......that is definitely not a desired outcome.......An adaptor which will screw onto the existing fitting...with something which will mate with the `quick connector` on the other end is what is needed...
