As a result of recent threads in relation to idiots casting off unattended boats and the narrowboat that broke its moorings at night whilst the river was in heavy flow a potentially life saving solution has come to mind.
Attach one of those personal attack alarms to your boat with a length of fine line from the alarm pin to either a dedicated peg on the bank or to one of your
mooring spikes. In the event of a breakaway the alarm would at least give you a heads up rather like a smoke alarm.
What do you think - Dragons Den or Patent office. Yes I know I've blown it by posting on the forum.
Anyway it's a £5 simple solution that might just save a life.
