The buzz of sailing

Having spent around 5 hours on the engine in the absence of wind, during the evening I could still feel the vibrations for several hours afterwards.
Anyone else have the same experience?

No, but I have painful memories of "diesel d*ck" from the DAF lorries we had to endure in the Dutch army. Funny at first, not so much after a few hours

I think I know what you mean. The longest motor I have done was about 30 hours, but my saildrive means the boat is fairly vibration-free.

Last one was MK III Commando. others were a 88 and a 99 and an Atlas. The Atlas was like hanging onto a jackhammer at high revs.
Also had a couple of ES2's and a model 50.

Production racing the Atlas at Lydden hill early eighties.

I was surprised by how little vibe there was with my Commando. Way better than a Harley Sportster that I had.

Yes, my Commando was super smooth and the 500 Dominator wasn't too bad.
