I was having a browse around my local army surplus last year and picked myself up a body bag. It was £30 quid and has proven to be one of the most useful bits of kit I've grabbed in a long time.

Six webbing hoops and strong enough to support my 18st frame without a problem. I mainly use it when camping but it’s great on the boat when I need a little extra storage. It makes a fantastic hammock and I sometimes stuff a few blankets in it and turn it into a big cushion. A couple of poles through the handles gives you an emergency stretcher and it’s a pretty good sling as well. I’m sure that you guys could find even more creative uses for one.

Excellent bit of lateral thinking! Best bit of advice there's been on here and I'll be looking out for one.

I use them to store the boat mattresses in the loft over the winter, have to agree that they are excellent things and the loops on the army surplus one clearly add to the functionality!

MOB recovery, or is that what you meant about it making a good sling?

I didn't think of that. It could easily take the weight. I might give it a go and make a video... I think I might have a good tune started here as well.
