Cor I didnt get that much praise for my splendid account of the Menorca/Del Sol trip, mind you I'm not a newbie. Good story and welcome to the forum. How your friend can sleep for three quarters of the way through such a trip I'll never understand. I couldnt do that I'd be missing too much CGN

2 1/2 hr drive to Southampton not 4 and worth the effort due to greatly enhanced boating opportunities. I love to make passage and enjoy the thrill of arriving at a new port. Will have to give you a weekend test run

Hi Andy

Ocean Village - J Hammerhead

To one and all

Thanks for all your comments - no disasters to report on the trip, but another little snipit. When mooring in Padstow harbour the only person on the quay at the time asked what was the significance of the Welsh Flag, it turn out that her father was the doctor in the little village that I was born in. The following morning, at 7:30 she was on the quay side to see us off with a bottle of champagne to wish us well. Very friendly the Welsh, I am sure my new found friends down south will be the same?
