the best places to take ground on east and south coast

Itchenor, Chichester harbour is an easy one. The hard there has a reasonable gradient and is firm gravel. We’ve dried out in many of the places already mentioned, but I’d add the sandy coves just inside Salcombe, and Lyme Regis as possibles. Being able to dry makes Lyme into a bit of a refuge, with caution.
Thanks I'm making a list now and Lyme Regis is wonderful (with the right weather that is) .

We’ve done that a few times, it makes the prospect of the lyme bay transit a bit more appealing. Our kids caught their worst ever outbreak on nits there though. The kids co operative crabbing session was responsible, no doubt. It was pretty dire on the 26ft trimaran we had at the time🤣

That would be a nice place to start when we travel south from Holland! A lot of mud there I suppose? And I heared there's much sealife there?
I sailed the Wash for about 10 years. The salt marshes are a haven for thousands upon thousands of birds. Seals are abundant and can be seen on the sands revealed by the tides. Often in quiet weather people would go and dry out for a beach day until they float off. A lot of hard sand, but also areas of mud. I was based in Fosdyke which isn't a great destination but had a great and knowledgeable boatyard, good pontoons, but beware strong currents so best approach at high water for the first time. The ship inn was very good when I was there. Fosdyke Yacht Haven
North Norfolk has interesting little harbours apart from Wells. You can get up- river to the larger wash ports as well.

Sailing is heavenly dreaming and learning to deal with disappointments... And against all logic, still seeking out the water time and again. That connects you as island folks with us as delta folks.
