Wouldn't want to watch some lone sailor moaning into his/her mike that some gizmo on the boat has broken down again

Sailing on TV is dull, dull, dull![]()
I do think there is a missed opportunity in telling the every day story of sailing.

Hardly.
Stories about teenage girls crashing sell. Stories about underage girls being peddled by uncaring pushy parents sell. Stories about horrid pirates sell (until we get bored then who cares?).
Stories about everyday sailing? pah! Unless there's sex in it in which case call it Howards Way and that didnt sell.
Now, if you could get a drama set in, say, georgian England involving a good old fashioned copper and some nasty ruffians, a bit of a sexy landowner on a big J class style boat with some stripped to the waist muscle men and catholic vicar who really wanted a bit...now that would sell.
Or get katie Price to sail. That would sell too.
I am also a keen pilot of the air and was mighty unhappy when Discovery Wings was killed, but killed it was. Still, we have the X factor so I should be happy.
