As a Flybridge fan fearing they were going out of fashion I was really pleased when I noticed Sealine were building a Brand new model. :)

I was somewhat surprised at the design, very traditional with many shared lines with its predecessors from the 80's and wandered who it is aimed at ?

So its time for another poll ;)

By the way for all those that vote love it, you can save a mint and buy the one above for £15 000 ;)

Contradiction

I like the space and light and the way it is laid out , and i love the mid cabin , but if it is only possible to get the space by having pod drives then i am afraid i would never buy one , ( if i could afford it :o ) . Shafts or maybe v drives then i will start saving now .

The first line of the advert does it for me (We are selling our pride and joy that has never let us down! We are selling due to a new arrival to our family) I'd be well tempted if my budget was fifteen grand.

And oh yes, I could also be tempted by the F42 if my budget was whatever it costs.

I went aboard the new 42 2 weeks ago in Cowes, the finish was that poor I could peel the veneer off the doors with my thumbnail, the square cushions left a bum imprint in them after standing up, was cheap leather, and the woodwork looked like it was from B and Q, the door hinges flexed , I had to lift 1 door to make it shut again, all that glass will make it really hot inside in our summer, so what it would be like in the med I cant imagine.

Sorry no I would not buy one.

Just to add here in Bembridge the is an older sc38 alongside the new sc35 and the 35 actually looks a bigger boat.

I am the same bamboleo. I would not buy one if I could because of those new pod drives. Dunno what anybody else thinks of them, but then again I am a sterndrive hater aswell.

To VolvoPaul, not to defend Sealine but I guess you have been to boat shows before as I have seen hull numbers 1 from other renowed builders having the same problems. Now these are presented boats for the people! I have seen a new SC35 and looked pretty well laid togather. Now you have seen it may be in testing where may be they are still preparing tweeking the tooling and adjusting stuff, so its even worse.
As for the glass why don't they use something similar as Atlantis do for the hard top which can become darker and reduce sun rays effect to just about 10%....

The door end veneer is glued on, just looked like a rush job to me.

I liket the f46, so will no doubt like this as well. I commend sealing for having the balls to do something a bit different ( tome the boars in daka's original post look completely different, accepting that they are both fly bridges). However, if I has 370k to buy a new flybridge it would not go on this, but on the new squadron 41 which not only looks better, it will probably hold it's money better and a I suspect it will feel more special. All for the same dosh! Now if the sealing were 50k less it might be different...

Well like last time as per its big brother I will certainly pop down and have a look if for nothing else than to see something different from the serried ranks of indentiboat melted meringue clones.!
Of course one could also cast ones mind back to the prophets of doom who posted on here about the SC35 being a disaster for Sealine.:)

Well - its featured in this months (sorry Oct 2010) MB&Y - I know as it arrived today :-)

Surely the SC35 has sold a lot more then expected and the reasons are a lot not only its ultra modern design.
First of all it is the only British built hard top Sport Cruiser of that size. Now everyone knows how much the British boat market is actualy closed and very protective of itself. More so in the last 3 years of weak Pound/Sterling. Just see some posts on this board and you get the reply automatically.
Second is that it is also the only 11 metre Sport Cruiser who used latest design elements, as a single level cockpit main deck, and a more sleek ultra modern interior.
Third is the usuall more spacious elements of Sealine and an also not hurting is a competitive price.
Compare this to the I add good looking 38 Targa COMPETITON and by comfort and standards it looks very old compared to the SC35.
The oak interior on the 38 Targa helps, but I am sure and I don't know what Fairline is waiting for a hard top would have helped even more.
That is why while price is similar to a Sealine SC35 it outsells a Fline 38 Targa by two boats for each Fline38T sold.

Now the F42 will have a big challenge from Fline 41 Squadron, and if the price difference is not much who knows who will win. I think the 41 Squadron really ticks a lot of boxes at least by the renderings alone. Not that the Sealine does not, may be it is more practical but the small Squadron manages to look trendy yet at the same time still feeling a bit of a classic.
