Replaced prop on my Sadler 25, with a new identical spec prop, but at certain revs heard what I thought was cavitation.
We actually bought the prop just before Covid struck so it’s only recently that the new one has been fitted and used.
I emailed the company that supplied the new prop (Castle Marine in Caernarfon) asking for advice, within 5 minutes of my email the chief guy there was on the phone, he established that it isn’t cavitation, but a ‘singing prop’ and suggested that I try smoothing the leading edges of the prop with some coarse abrasive. If this doesn’t work take it back to them and they will sort it out.
Full marks for customer service.

She was known as Burly Chassis...

Have a friend who swears that this is true, ‘ many years ago he was managing a venue in the Welsh Valleys one day a young lady asked if she could have a spot on the stage, always looking for talent he obliged, but was disappointed with her singing and told and suggested she forget show business as a career, the young lady was a teen age Shirley Bassey.
Still not sure I believe him completely but it’s a good story.
