Thank you to all forumites that have provided me with advice and help and the occassional p**s taking PM's.

Although I have only been using the forum for a while it has provided me hours on entertainment during dull days at work and I am eternally grateful for that!!

This is my last day online for a while as I am off to Las Palmas before I do the ARC. After that I am going to Sydney to wave goodbye to my other half when he does the Sydney-Hobart. Sensibly, I am then flying to Hobart to greet him at the finish!

Then am going to Bali to beach bum for a while before returning to UK to do a Professional Sail Training course and pursue my dream of a career out of sailing.

So thank you all - happy winter sailing....I am going to miss the Solent sooooo much!!!

It's so refreshing to have a young lady who is positively enthusiastic about sailing. Too many complain about creature comforts and this and that instead of taking advantage of the elements and the freedom that they bring.

Absolutely. I know you are right and it is such a pleasure when it happens. Unfortunately I have had my fair (?) share of passengers (definitely not crew members) who have spoilt the trip for the others (including lady sailors) who were enjoying it.
