Thanks for all your help

I have had two wonderful days sailing on the upper reaches of the River.

it is hard top beleive it is the same place as the bits I filmed back in 2008 when I started my journey around the UK

http://www.keepturningleft.co.uk/ca...in/ktl-0-zero-shakedown-cruise-iow-to-crouch/

I really enjoyed the sailing in this easterly wind - I could sail one way and then drop the sail and drift back with the current

but blimey it was cold

ice in and on the bottom of the boat

The amazing thing about the bit past Kelmscott was that I could not hear any traffic at all

wonderful

Kelmscott was a great place to launch - the road came right down to beside the river although there were a lot more trees than at Radcott.

I have made a film about the sailing - it is really aimed at the people who sail small home built boats - so it is probably a bit long and slow for some of you

but here it is anyway

I want to have a go at Port Meadow next - maybe on a quiet morning with a sunrise

Thanks for a great film Dylan. It shows the true beauty and serenity of the upper Thames.

Very peaceful without the sound of thundering diesels, and proof of the old adage "The smaller the boat, the greater the fun".

I'm glad there were no gates and apologise for introducing that worry!

Sail up to the Riverside pub at Lechlade sometime and I'll buy you a pint. And then you can buy me one back :D

Hi Dylan

I've just managed to watch the video in glorious HD with good sound - it was great. It looked bloody cold though!

Do you have an off camera support person? Otherwise how did you launch at Kelmscott and put the boat back on your car at Radcot?

Stephen.
