I realise that the airline has come in for critism on the forum on occasions. I also realise that that it is fair from perfect.

BUT

€ 28 return from Shannon to Stansted ensures that a party of six will be at the LIBS midweek.

Very good value, must remember the lugage weight issue....

Ah, but . .

Is that the "fare" before taxes/wheelchair charge/anythinhelseRyanaircanthinkof is applied ??

Or is this what your FINAL bil will be ? ?

No but\'s .....

Total cost for six people return to Stansted

Fare € 44
Taxes €134
Insurance/wheelchair € 0

Total € 178

It will cost more for the train and the tube....

Re: No but\'s .....

Ryanair; Advertised ticket price for a flight Gatwick to Alicante £9.99, return 99p. Yes 99p. Book for 2 people = £21.96? No: the actual cost was £74.16.

Still cheaper by far than anyone else, so why for heavens sake advertise at £10.98 when it actually costs £37.08???!

Cosmos are the most honest at present. They advertise a week for 2 people SC in Lanzarote, accomodation allocated on arrival - in other words you dont get told where you are staying till you land - for an advertised £159.00 each. Great - price on line gets up to around £180 each with 'extras', which include fuel supplements, transfers etc. The 'online' booking discount then takes the price to - £160!

See you all there!

I hated the undignified scramble at the boarding gate the only time I flew with Ryanair. I enjoyed rugby when I was younger but not now.

But delighted to see that beside EU Jet and Ryanair, EasyJet will also now be flying from Shannon. About time the West was opened up.

Nobody\'s Fooled

I'm no apologist for Ryanair, and I couldn't understand when the Sunday Times tried to rubbish them, why they got nowhere, but after the last couple of years extensive flying on a number of airlines, I now see why.

No one is taken in by the 'added taxes' - eveybody knows the score so I think its a non issue. The real thing is that the whole flight (taxes included) still costs less than the meal at the airport AND is generally on time which is more than Easyjet often is. (and yes I know they 'build in' ATC delays - Buzz used to do that but it still made no difference)

Yes, the scrum at the gate is unpleasant, but I recently paid (well, my company did) for a full fare BA trip to Sweden which cost £400. It was late and unpleasant.

I'm going back next week - by Ryanair. I'm under no illusions about how the company makes its money, and I really wish it could be cheap and cheerful rather than cheap and nasty, but as a consumer proposition, they have my vote.

I've taken nearly 40 flights with Ryanair in the last two years and they have been late - once. I've taken about 10 in the same period with Easyjet and they have been late 4 times. On one occasion they missed a 90 minute connection which cost us £100.

I am a great Ryanair fan, based here at Prestwick Scotland have made 25 flights with them and only ever had one delay due to aircraft going u/s. Never paid more than £20 total inc. taxes return on any route, just returned from Girona Barcelona for which I paid fare of £1.98 return and £18 taxes totalling £19.98. every flight is on or ahead of schedule and they now operate the most up to date fleet of B737 in the UK. However beware on luggage. You are allowed 15kg in hold and 10kg as hand baggage....you will be charged £4 or 7 euro per kg over that. The plonker infront of me at Girona on Saturday had to pay £95 in excess baggage!!!!!
