Thameside Webcams ?

H,mm looks a bit high to me on those webcams.
Trying to get an idea of flow speeds, regards getting Murvs boat out of PH on Saturday around mid day.
Any thoughts from anyone,is it likely to have moderated sufficiently enough to make moving on the river down to Teddington a practical proposition ?

Me neither.....Chertsey Bridge would be a worry!

And don't forget Medwayites.....keep that boat any longer on The Thames.....license it please.....they need the money:)
Heavy rain forecast for Saturday

I can't view the Hobbs Camera. It starts and instantly goes blank. Is it me or everyone?

It was working fine for me earlier today on the 5244 occasions that I checked it...
Just got a spinning circle now, I hope it's not due to water damage!

I do use an ad blocker but it allows Maidenhead and other Cameras including Rochester CC. I'm not that bothered I might fiddle later.

Disabled blocker which allowed the advert to play which allowed me to see the webcam. Thanks Chris.

River closed ?

Think the plan is now to call one or two of the downstream locks to get a estimate of Saturdays flow, then have a pow wow this evening.
Been suggested that our journey to P.H. on Sat,takes us across Chertsey Bridge if we need convincing one way or the other. :)
The Maidenhead webcam still shows it rather high.
Have just been told there is a river closure at Molesely on 14th between 13.00 and 16.00 due to "race" .......anybody know anything ?

Hi Fred, yes, I did see that somewhere during my frantic river conditions searching. It's a race (veterans maybe?) that starts in the afternoon, access is closed from 13:30 I believe so guessing that wouldn't be an issue (assuming it's not been cancelled)

EDIT: It's provisionally still on http://moleseyregatta.org.uk/

Closure details: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploa...997/HM_NOTICE_-_Molsey_Veterans_Head_2016.pdf

Re: River closed ?

A Head Race is like a time-trial... the boats are racing against the clock rather than against each other. Many boats are involved and they set off at intervals.

Frequently (as in this case) the organising boat club (in this case Molesey) gets a total river closure. Unlike a more conventional Regatta there is NO navigation channel.

Head Races are held during the winter.

If you re-check Molesey's website you will see that the event has now been cancelled due to strong flows.
