Thames

Thinking of visiting the Thames this year do you have to have a holding tank or can you discharge into the river like ducks do?

The Thames is def.worth the effort.
When you go through Teddington you will have to fill in your registration form.Think it asks if you have a holding tank ?
Basically you are put on your honour not to discharge sewage into the watercourse. This usually involves a Porta - Potty or similar.
Very few boats have the sophistication of a holding tank and have never heard of anybody being refused entry.
The lock staff will NOT rummage under your floorboards to check your sea toilet connections.
The Thames is very clean river due to all the enforcement measures taken over the years.
Enjoy your trip.

The lock staff at Teddington will seal up your sea toilet ( assuming you do the right thing and tell them about it when you arrive )

We will either wire and crimp a seal holding the lever in the holding tank position , or if you have no holding tank , we will wire the handle down so it cannot be flushed.
