Oi Grumpy ....
Londons water supply is probably the most extensive in the UK bar none with possibly more pipework than the rest of the country put together,much of it in clay meaning it is very prone to heave and sink in periods of drought and betcha it is some of the oldest an all ?
I personally intend to help by only taking one bath a year instead of two .

we filled our tank prior to leaving Limehouse, we pumped it all out in Chatham 2 days later, it was disgusting stuff

EA are obliged to provide quantities of water to Thames Water FOR A PITTANCE, who then p**s it away in leaks.
Meanwhile us folks who have paid huge licence fees for navigation will be stopped or restricted movements, so that TW can extract the wet stuff to pour away...
OK, I don't like to "do overstatement" but that's part of the quid pro quo.
