Thames water funny colour.

Does anybody know why the river water is such a strange brown colour?

I know strong flow and dredging can stir up the muck on the bottom, but as of last week (when I last looked) it hadn't rained for weeks. I haven't noticed any dredging, if indeed the EA have ever used one. It must be even browner now after the last few days rain.

What is it?

It's rusting due to all the moisture around!

Is it the dregs from cleaning that politicians moat?

It happens this time every year. I'm not sure what causes it. Maybe it's something to do with Farmers fertilising the fields?

Or is it a mass spring cleaning of holding tanks.

Possibly coming upriver from westminster,seems to be a lot of brown stuff around there at the moment ?: )
