Well I'm a bit new to Brightlingsea so didn't know their names but I was rather struck by 'Crispin Yarker' as a name.
I gave up watching after 40 minutes and played with the dog instead. Just as last week, I found the idea of the programme rather more interesting than its actuality.
Crispin runs the bawley Saxonia - usually in the smack dock or in the pyefleet
Jimmy - well needs no introduction really - he is James lawrence of James Lawrence Sailmakers (now run by his son in law). Ex Barge / Balwley / Smack skipper and dodgy musician (do n't tell him I said that).
I saw you managed to get back on the pontoon. Is it easier where you are now rather than being right in the corner?

[/ QUOTE ]It's marginally easier but still pretty difficult in anything greater than an F4 which puts us off going out, a shame because Chellers is at her best in an F5-F6 (can go like the clappers). We're currently investigating some alternatives.
Does this mean you're one of our fellow Pontoonites?
Ah yes, I remember... s'cuse the density of this forumite, it's been a long day's cycling today (including the Wivenhoe trail which was rather nice. Although part of the cycle route was underwater - must be a high tide at Wivenhoe today!)
for myself the diving grear was the most interesting, the type of helmet that the diver was wearing is a Kirby Morgan, the helmet has been modified to make it safer, its predescessor blew off my head at 140ft below, glad to see that they have finally done something about the poor design.
i was living the dive, the bit where the diver was in amongst all that rigging brought back spooky memories.
