Is it possible to get hold of hourly tidal streams for the Thames River between say Greenwich and Gravesend? Even better, showing faster/ slower slow and eddies?

You can get predicted hourly tide heights for that area from the Port of London Authority. For the rates of flow speak to speak to their Hydrography dept. Or consult a Pilot or a Thames Lighterman/Waterman. But the Thames is basically a ditch and the water behaves in the same way. Its usually deepest in the middle and on the outside of the bends and that is where the strongest flow is. But around every bend there is usually a back eddy.

Not sure if I have ever seen anything generally available to the public, that goes into that level of detail.
No doubt PLA hygrographic surveys have the info but not published.

That's useful to know, might buy a new chart.
My old one runs out about Canvey, has lots of details regards Dragons, which seem to be omitted from most new charts.
