Thames River Conditions 2018

2018 updates for alerting other YBW users to Thames River conditions and other urgent information for river users.

Any registered forum user can post a message on this thread (and this thread only for reasons that will become clear) if there is a sudden change in conditions or other urgent information. With the number of people here out and about and living on the river, this has proved to be a very valuable tool.

If you want to receive alerts, click on 'Thread Tools' at the top of this thread and select 'Subscribe To This Thread' from the dropdown. Then select 'Instant Notification by Email' and then click on 'Add subscription'.

If you do this, ANY post to this thread will automatically be emailed to your registered email address. Provided you have a mobile with email capability you will then receive messages as they are posted without needing to visit the website.

Please note this thread is not for general discussion and ONLY to report river/weather conditions and other urgent information which may be helpful to river users so please, do not post here unless that is the case.

River levels and flows slowly returning to normal with no red boards now displayed below Cookham.

Tree still largely blocking central arches Windsor Bridge waiting for river conditions to permit clearance - believe workboat is already waiting at Romney.

All locks from St Johns to Teddington now showing Red strong stream earnings following yesterdays rain/snow melt conditions.

Most locks now showing no stream warnings or decreasing. Exceptions are:

Culham Lock to Clifton Lock
Upstream of Blake's Lock
Temple Lock to Marlow Lock

Which remain Red.

On top of winter lock closure.
......Just a polite note to boaters that the draw off starts at Richmond Lock 6.50am this Sunday and there will be no water between Richmond and Teddington at low tide so if you're planning to head that way plan your trip carefully. Also clocks go back the same morning so bear this in mind .

Yellow ‘Stream Increasing’ warnings on display Boveney to Marsh inclusive.

It’s now anyone’s guess as the EA site is down.
Yesterday the Yellows were down to Boveney Lock.

Bell Weir and Romney Lock were on hand wind yesterday.
