Thames River Conditions 2014

Do we know if it is still rising by any chance and how many metres its got before it goes over the banks at Hampton Court? I know the Mitre hotel is flooded downstairs already but that was Sunday so not sure where it is now. Thanks

Update from Penton Hook

Subject: Penton Hook Marina - FLOODING UPDATE Dear Berth Holder,

Another Flooding update for you.

Although we have experienced another dose of heavy rain, boats both in the water and on the hard standing are all secure. We continue to do regular checks and are in touch with the Emergency services if needed.
Mixnams Lane is now 2 feet under with heavy rain expected for the rest of the day. Once again it is advisable not to come to the marina for the time being, we will keep you updated.

I've been watching the very useful EA river station data (Hurley Lock downstream - exactly where my boat is, in the boatyard). Since Monday midday I believe it's dropped 110mm. However all I hear on BBC Radio Berks is that it will continue to rise for another couple of days, even if it doesn't rain. Is it dropping in other more upstream areas?

Dropped 310mm since Monday midday at Hurley - if nothing else gives a bit of relief to get at the boat tomorrow & check over, perhaps prior to a further rise.

We don't record them , i just post the cumecs when a flood alert is issued from Putney Bridge to Teddington Weir , they contain the flow over the weir.

Perhaps it is time to dredge the river
