2010 update for alerting other YBW users to Thames River conditions.

The idea being that any registered user can post on this thread (and this thread only for reasons that will become clear) if there is a sudden change in conditions. With the number of people here on the river, this could become a very valuable tool.

If you want to receive alerts, click on 'Thread Tools' at the top of this thread and select 'Subscribe To This Thread' from the dropdown. Then select 'Instant Notification by Email' and then click on 'Add subscription'.

If you do this, ANY post to this thread will automatically be emailed to your registered email address. Provided you have a mobile with email capability you will then receive messages as they are posted without needing to visit the website.

Please note this thread is not for general discussion and ONLY to report river/weather conditions so please, do not post here unless that is the case.

Latest EA stream warnings/status are available here:

Well to kick this thread off, we`re about 18" up on the normal level at present with the river in full flow ! Had thought about venturing out New Years day for an hour or 2 but thought better of it.

Our canoe club just went down from Aston Ferry (ie The Flower Pot) to Hurley. River up a few inches and a good flow. Hurley had one big gate open and several side gates, enough for the play boaters to have some fun in. The green floating weed seen recently seems to have gone.

Well, thats 2010 done and dusted then. A very uneventful year for the river conditions info thread compared with previous years.

I have started a 2011 thread and asked Dan if he will make it sticky and release this one to fade away with the tide.......

But answering your question the group drinking from the Thames would have a higher mortality rate, until those in the sealed environment met anything from outside, which the would have no immunity to.
